  • Cassette Tape Splicing Block

    Cassette Tape Splicing Block

A splicing block for your cassette looping needs. Built-in tools help you hold the tape in place, and precisely place the splicing tape. Razor included.

Tape looping is annoying. I was surprised I couldn’t find any cassette-specific splicing blocks, given the relative popularity of tape looping, so I set about designing this.

Because these are designed from scratch and 3D printed, I was able to design in holes for 2 little rubber “poker” tools to help with placing the splicing tape. The two rubber parts on top serve to hold the cassette tape in place while cutting and splicing, and conveniently lock the razor blade into it’s slot on the block.

I chose orange because it contrasts nicely with the dark cassette tape.

For the 3D printing nerds out there… the block is printed with PETG and the tools are a stiff TPU.

  • Cassette Looping Inserts (4x)

    Cassette Looping Inserts (4x)

Inserts with posts and wheels make tape looping easier. No need to cut the perfect sized loop – just re-route within the insert.

Some of my friends here in Fort Collins set up a lil tape looping workshop at a local theatre. Having done it a few times in the past with varying success and much annoyance, I decided to 3D print little posts to super glue into the case to help with routing the tape. It did not work out as I expected, but sparked an idea that became these 3D printed inserts.

They are made out of PETG, clear or orange, designed and 3D printed by me.

  • Mini Dirty Video Mixer

    Mini Dirty Video Mixer

Mix 2 analog RCA video signals with this classic dirty video mixer circuit in a mini-sized package.

I originally created these for a little workshop here in Fort Collins. I ordered more PCBs and parts than I needed, and already had an Etsy store, so I decided to list them.

Dirty video mixers are one of the first (and cheapest) ways to get into analog video manipulation. I made this one tiny as to be easy to double-sided-tape to part of a rig. It’s also a great first soldering project as there are only a few parts, and none can be easily destroyed by bad soldering technique.
